Cyprus and the United Arab Emirates have taken a major step to strengthen economic ties with the establishment of the UAE–Cyprus Joint Business & Investment Council, a new platform designed to foster investment, business collaboration, and ongoing dialogue between the two countries.
The announcement followed the Cyprus–UAE Business Roundtable, held on 13 December 2025 at the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KEBE) in Nicosia. The event brought together high-level government officials and business leaders, including UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Cyprus Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry Michalis Damianou, and senior representatives from Invest Cyprus.
Organized by KEBE, Invest Cyprus, and the Cypriot Presidency, the roundtable aimed to promote institutional dialogue and explore new avenues for bilateral business cooperation. Speakers highlighted Cyprus’ position as a reliable partner and regional hub for investment and development, while UAE officials emphasized their commitment to expanding economic engagement with the island nation.

During the roundtable, participants from both countries presented their business models and discussed opportunities in trade, services, energy, technology, and investment. The discussions were structured to encourage the creation of long-term partnerships and actionable collaboration plans.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed among KEBE, Invest Cyprus, and the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce & Industry, officially establishing the Joint Business & Investment Council. The Council will serve as a formal mechanism to support investment promotion, strengthen business networks, and maintain continuous communication between Cypriot and Emirati economic stakeholders.
The event concluded with bilateral business meetings (B2B), where participants explored concrete cooperation opportunities, and closing remarks by the relevant ministers. KEBE described the roundtable as highly productive, noting that the MoU and Council represent a significant step toward deepening economic relations and enhancing Cyprus’ international business presence.
