29 third-country nationals deported from Cyprus yesterday

There have been 1,590 returns/deportations of third-country nationals as of January 1, 2023

The Aliens and Immigration Unit in cooperation with the Greek authorities and FRONTEX organized on Tuesday a joint flight of forced returns of third-country nationals.

According to a press release by the Police, 29 persons, of which 21 Pakistani and 8 Georgian nationals, have been returned to their respective countries.

Members of the Aliens and Immigration Unit, as well as members of FRONTEX, took part in the coordinated effort and accompanied them back to their countries.

The Police continue to focus its efforts on maximizing the number of returns of third-country nationals, the press release says.

It notes that in coordination with the Ministry of the Interior, it has made 1,590 returns/deportations of third-country nationals as of January 1, 2023, while their number in the corresponding period last year was 649.
