The European Commission's High-Level Network on Returns will hold its second meeting in Cyprus on December 1-2.
According to an Interior Ministry press release, Interior Minister Nikos Nouris will open the two-day meeting in Nicosia.
This network, made up of representatives from Member States and Schengen Associated Countries' institutions in charge of returns, was established to coordinate all Member States' efforts to ensure effective returns at the EU level. Frontex is in charge of coordinating return operations.
Cyprus is represented at the Network by the Interior Ministry, which has received praise from both the European Commission and the Network for the significant increase in returns it made in 2022, reaching nearly 7000 and ranking first in the European Union.
