The meeting between President Anastasiades and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres took place yesterday at 6 pm New York time.

The 20 minute meeting, which took place in Mr. Guterres’ office, also included Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides, Government Spokesman Marios Pelekanos, Permanent Representative of the Republic to the United Nations Andreas Hadjichrysanthou and Pantelis Pantelides, a member of the President’s diplomatic office.
After the meeting, President Anastasiades stated that, “the meeting with the Secretary General took place in a creative atmosphere."
He noted "we have listed the views, positions and how a creative dialogue could be resumed without prerequisites. I have developed some positions and ideas and we have agreed that the Cyprus issue will be discussed at the dinner we will have on the 27th with Mr. Tatar. "
The President expressed hope in the success of future discussions.
