Afternoon rain not ruled out for Cyprus

Still hot but less unbearable temps as clouds bring rain in mountains and west coast, strong winds south

A weather model is predicting rain for Cyprus on Tuesday afternoon with similar chances on the following day, with temperatures staying hot throughout the island but less unbearable compared to last month.

A low pressure system is affecting the island on Tuesday with mostly clear skies but also cloud formations over local areas, where low chances of rain are expected mainly in the mountains and out west.

Very strong winds are also expected along the southern coast.

Temperature highs will reach 36 degrees Celsius inland, 33 in the east, southeast, and north, 31 in all other coastal regions, while it will be 27 high up in the mountains.

Evening skies will be mostly clear with low clouds sticking around on the west coast. Temperature lows will drop to 22 degrees inland, 24 in the south and east, 23 in all other coastal areas, and 17 higher up.

Rain chances are also possible on Wednesday while skies on Thursday and Friday will remain mostly clear with some scattered afternoon cloud activity.

No changes in temperature are expected before the week is out, with levels staying firmly close to normal averages for this time of the year.
