Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Al Saud expressed their common will to further reinforce relations between Cyprus and Saudi Arabia, during a meeting they had in Riyadh on Tuesday. President Anastasiades was in Saudi Arabia yesterday for an official visit.
According to an announcement issued by the Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus, President Anastasiades arrived early in the afternoon at the Palace, where he was warmly welcomed by the Saudi Arabian Crown Prince.
Both sides expressed their strong will to strengthen their cooperation regarding tourism and connectivity between Cyprus and Saudi Arabia. They also discussed investment opportunities,
President Anastasiades was accompanied by the Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, Natasa Pilides, the Undersecretary to the President, Kyriakos Koushos and Deputy Government Spokesperson, Niovi Parisinou.
After the meeting, Parisinou said that President Anastasiades and the Crown Prince discussed the situation in Ukraine and its impact worldwide, as well as the current state of the Cyprus issue and the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean. Issues concerning the field of energy such as the Eurasia Interconnector and reinforcement of bilateral relations in all sectors were also discussed during the meeting, according to the statement.

She added that President Anastasiades invited the Crown Prince to visit Cyprus. The Crown Prince accepted the invitation and expressed his intention to visit Cyprus as soon as possible.
The Crown Prince also thanked the Republic of Cyprus for supporting Saudi Arabia in the organization of the ΕΧΡΟ 2030, said Parisinou.
Both countries, she concluded, expressed their will to upgrade their relations on a strategic level.
