Authorities carried out a large-scale operation in Paphos on Wednesday as part of ongoing efforts to tackle illegal immigration. The Immigration and Migration Service, along with members of the Green Line Surveillance and Migration Flows Sub-Directorate, conducted a coordinated sweep, resulting in the arrest of 51 third-country nationals who were found to be staying in Cyprus illegally.

According to officials, 37 of those arrested were immediately repatriated, while the remaining 14 are being held as authorities work through the legal procedures for their return.

The operation is part of a broader effort to enforce immigration laws and curb illegal entries. The Aliens and Immigration Service has stepped up inspections and monitoring across the island, aiming to maintain control over migration flows and ensure compliance with the law.

Authorities say such operations will continue as part of their commitment to managing migration effectively.
