In a classic case of "who let the goat out," drivers on the Larnaca-Nicosia motorway faced an unexpected challenge Thursday morning (27/6) when a rogue goat decided to join the morning commute. As seen in the video published by 24news, the four-legged traffic disruptor nonchalantly strutted down the busy motorway, leaving a trail of confused and amused drivers in its wake.

The goat, estimated to have either staged a daring escape from a farm or taken a tumble off a livestock transport, seemed blissfully unaware of the chaos it was causing.

The unexpected roadblock prompted drivers to hit the brakes and carefully navigate around the hoofed pedestrian, leading to a temporary traffic jam and a slew of smartphone videos capturing the bizarre incident.

Authorities were alerted, but by the time they arrived, the goat had vanished, presumably to continue its grand tour of Cyprus. Meanwhile, the video has quickly gone viral, with many speculating about the goat’s next destination and dubbing it the "Great Goat Escape."

In the spirit of Cyprus's new tourism slogan, perhaps the island should consider adding "goat sightings" to its list of attractions. Just another day on the Larnaca-Nicosia motorway!
