Swimming waters at Lady’s Mile beach are safe for bathing, the British Bases said Tuesday, citing recent test results that show a marked improvement in water quality.
A spokesperson for the British Bases said water samples collected earlier this week revealed significantly improved conditions along the entire stretch of the beach. No further details on the analysis were provided.
Authorities with the British Bases are continuing to investigate possible sources of pollution in cooperation with the Republic of Cyprus, according to the statement.
Additional water quality checks are scheduled in the coming weeks as part of ongoing efforts to monitor and protect the coastal environment.
The British Bases reiterated their commitment to public health and environmental safety, stating their goal is to ensure Lady’s Mile remains “a safe and pleasant environment for all.”
“The swimming waters at Lady’s Mile beach are currently safe for bathing,” the spokesperson confirmed.
