A woman in Limassol found her cat injured after shots were fired by unknown suspects who were acting suspiciously near her residence.

Local media said a German female, who lives permanently in Pissouri, saw two males acting suspiciously near her residence on Tuesday early evening.

According to police, the woman filed a complaint saying she saw a suspicious vehicle outside her house. Suddenly she heard what sounded like at least one gunshot.

The woman realised that a cat under her care had been injured and rushed the feline to the vet

When she stepped outside, she saw two suspicious-looking persons holding a flashlight and walking in an empty field near her residence. The two males ran away as soon as they realised the woman had seen them.

After a quick check outside, the woman realised that a cat under her care had been injured and rushed the feline to the vet.

Police told Knews the woman did not see any faces clearly and did not suspect anyone. There have been no arrests and no leads in the case, while Pissouri officers are in charge of the investigation.

The cat was said to be in stable condition.
