Charalambides Christis has confirmed it found and resolved the issue that caused a shorter shelf life in a limited number of its two-liter fresh milk packages.
In a statement, the company said extensive checks across all stages of production and distribution revealed that a technical fault in part of the pasteurization equipment led to the problem.
The dairy producer stressed that consumer safety was never compromised, as the milk’s raw materials were “entirely safe,” and no microbiological or other public health risks were detected.
Charalambides Christis apologized to consumers for the concern and delay in communication, explaining that the investigation took time due to the complexity of the issue.
The company added that it has since reinforced its quality control processes to prevent a similar incident in the future and remains committed to offering safe, high-quality dairy products in Cyprus and abroad.
Consumers can also have any affected products replaced, the company said, ensuring that “every customer continues to enjoy fresh, premium-quality milk on their table.”
