Starting May 1, 2023, the Church of Cyprus has announced that the mandatory application for attempted conciliation, required to proceed to Family Court Divorce proceedings, will only be accepted electronically through the website https://pnevmatikilysi.cy.net/. This decision has been made in agreement with the Cyprus Bar Association and no other type of application will be accepted thereafter.
Individuals can submit their application electronically through relevant offices of the Archdiocese or the Metropolises, or through a third-party such as a lawyer. It's important to note that no legal or other advisors will participate in the process of conciliation and spiritual dissolution of marriage.
Upon submitting the mandatory data through the online procedure, parties will receive an email and a certificate acknowledging the filing of the application. They will also receive a text message inviting them to the attempted conciliation, which is compulsory. If the conciliation is unsuccessful, a certificate specified by law will be lodged with the Family Court.
