A yellow warning has been issued for Tuesday afternoon due to temperatures climbing over 40 degrees.
Weather officials issued a weather alert effective Tuesday morning from 11am until late afternoon at 5pm, citing “extreme high temperature” reaching 41 degrees Celsius inland.
A low pressure system is affecting areas over Cyprus, with Tuesday skies mostly clear but also increasing afternoon clouds expected over local areas mainly in the mountains and inland.

Tuesday highs are expected to reach 41° Celsius inland, around 35 in the south and eastern shores, around 34 in the north, while it will be 32 out west and in the mountains.
Evening weather is expected to remain mostly clear, with thin fog and low clouds possibly forming over local areas in the early morning hours.
Minimum lows will drop to 25 degrees inland, in the south and along the eastern coast, around 23 in all other coastal regions, while it will be around 20 in the mountains.

Temperatures are not expected to change noticeably while a slight drop is expected on Thursday and Friday, with overall temperatures still remaining just slightly above normal averages for this time of the year.
