Cypriot rhythmic gymnast Vera Tukolukova delivered a standout performance at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Challenge Cup in Portimão, Portugal, winning three medals less than two weeks before the European Championships in Varna, Bulgaria.
Representing Cyprus against a strong international field, Tukolukova finished fourth overall in the individual all around competition and secured places in all four apparatus finals.
She went on to claim silver medals in the clubs and ribbon events, while also taking bronze in the ball final. The results add another major achievement to her growing international record and provide an encouraging sign ahead of next month’s European Championship campaign.
Another Cypriot athlete, Ekaterina Siyarova, also competed at the event, gaining valuable experience through several solid performances on the international stage.
The team traveling with the athletes included coaches Elena Nefetova and Vera Serkeeva, physiotherapist Andrei Pikarev, and judge Polyvia Trikomitis.
Cyprus’ participation in the competition was supported by the Cyprus Sports Organization (KOA), the Cyprus Olympic Committee and Allwyn CY.
