According to Transport Minister Yiannis Karousos, the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Works is developing a plan to promote postal services, and by 2025, the postal services will be equipped with 210 electric scooters.

Speaking at the World Postal Day gathering in Limassol on Thursday, Karousos said that the Post Office in Cyprus has changed in recent years and continues to evolve on a daily basis.

We are "in the midst of a creative process in terms of the postal network, daily contact with citizens, and changes that require the Postal Services to adapt to the needs of users and technology," he said.

Furthermore, Karousos stated that the Postal Services must contribute in their own way to stymie the worsening of climate change and cultivate a culture of sustainable development.

He stated that the Cyprus Postal Services budget includes one million euros for the purchase of 210 electric scooters for use by postmen. The budget was funded by the Resilience and Recovery Fund.
