An elderly woman was found dead Thursday morning at a Limassol beach, with reports saying she was spotted unconscious in the water.
According to local media, a 79-year-old Greek Cypriot woman was spotted unconscious in the water Thursday early morning at a Limassol beach in a popular seafront area.
It was not immediately known how long the elderly woman had been in the water
Reports said a lifeguard and fellow beachgoers, who spotted the woman around 7:30am, pulled her out of the water and attempted to resuscitate her but to no avail.
The woman was rushed to the Emergency Room at Limassol General Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
Police did not issue a report regarding the incident but confirmed that an elderly female had died and a post mortem exam had been scheduled for a later date.
It was not immediately known how long the elderly woman had been in the water.
