Firefighting teams are working to extinguish a blaze that broke out this afternoon near the Limassol port.
The Fire Service spokesperson, Andreas Kettis, said there is no risk of the fire spreading.
According to Kettis’s post on platform X, firefighters from Limassol responded with four staffed fire trucks to a large pile of discarded materials burning in a field near the city’s port. An excavator provided by Limassol Municipality is also assisting with the efforts.
“The smoke is clearly visible from the city, but there is no danger of the fire spreading,” Kettis said.
