A yellow weather warning is in place today as temperatures climb to a blistering 41°C inland. The day will be mostly clear, though some areas, especially along the eastern and southern coasts, may wake up to patches of light fog, mist, or low clouds in the morning.
Winds will start off light and variable, around 3 Beaufort, but as the day progresses, they’ll gradually shift to come from the southwest to northwest. These will remain light to moderate, reaching 3 to 4 Beaufort, though stronger gusts, up to 5 Beaufort, may be felt along wind-exposed coastlines. The sea will generally be calm to slightly choppy.
Temperatures will peak at around 41°C inland, while the western and southwestern coasts will see highs of about 33°C. Other coastal areas can expect temperatures around 35°C, and the mountains will be a bit cooler, reaching about 31°C.
Tonight will stay mostly clear. However, during the late night and early morning hours, some fog, mist, and low cloud patches may return, particularly near the eastern and southern coastal regions. Winds will shift again to come mainly from the northwest to northeast, remaining light at around 3 Beaufort. Sea conditions will stay calm to slightly rough.
Friday and Saturday are expected to continue in much the same way; mostly clear skies, with some local fog or low cloud cover appearing during the morning hours. Sunday will also be mostly sunny, though a few areas might experience increased cloudiness at times.
Temperatures will remain unusually high through Saturday, well above the seasonal average. A slight drop in temperatures is expected on Sunday.
