Discussions on maritime humanitarian corridor initiative from Cyprus

Cyprus Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos visited Ramallah on Monday to address the escalating tensions in the Middle East and explore the establishment of a maritime humanitarian corridor.

Kombos held meetings with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riad Malki and other Palestinian Authority representatives to address the need for crisis prevention in the region and the pressing humanitarian needs of the local population.

During the discussions, the proposal to create a secure and sustainable maritime humanitarian corridor connecting Cyprus to Gaza was a focal point. Furthermore, Cyprus announced a significant financial contribution to support the Palestinian people. The importance of continued EU humanitarian assistance was also emphasized.

Foreign Minister Kombos reaffirmed Cyprus' unwavering commitment to the revival of the Middle East peace process, aiming for a two-state solution based on relevant UN resolutions.
