A bridegroom had his hand partially amputated on his wedding photo shoot day after the buggy he was driving with his bride on board fell off a cliff in Paphos.

According to local media, a soon-to-wed couple from Larnaca was on their way to Panagia Chrysopateritissa Church in Pomos village, Paphos district, where they had scheduled a photo shoot for their wedding this coming Sunday.

While the couple was in a buggy driven by the groom, with both dressed for the occasion, he reportedly lost control of the steering wheel and they both fell off a cliff.

As a result of the fall, the man suffered a serious hand injury while the bride was unharmed, according to local media.

The groom, aged 33, was taken to a private clinic where he had surgery for a partial amputation in the palm area.

The cause of the accident was not immediately known.
