Since early Saturday morning, the island has been experiencing severe weather conditions caused by low pressure. The Cyprus Meteorological Service has issued a yellow warning for strong storms and hail, effective from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.

For this afternoon, the weather will be mainly cloudy with occasional rain and isolated thunderstorms. Hail is also possible during the storm. There will be thin dust in the atmosphere from time to time. The winds will blow mainly from the southwest with moderate strength, at around 4 Beaufort, and at times could be strong, around 5 Beaufort. The sea will be very rough.
As we move into the evening, the weather will become partly cloudy with isolated rain expected mainly on the coasts. The winds will shift mainly southwest to the west with weak strength at around 3 Beaufort. The sea will be somewhat rough. Temperatures are expected to drop to around 11 degrees Celsius in the interior, around 15 degrees Celsius on the coasts and around 5 degrees Celsius in the higher mountains.
Tomorrow, there will initially be locally increased clouds which are expected to bring isolated showers, mainly on the coasts. Gradually, however, the weather will become partly cloudy and at times mainly cloudy with localized showers and isolated thunderstorms expected. Hail is also possible during the storm. Winds will be mainly southerly to southwesterly, light to moderate, around 3 to 4 Beaufort and later on, the windward moderate, around 4 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough. Temperatures are expected to rise to around 23 degrees Celsius in the interior and on the coasts, and around 13 degrees Celsius in the higher mountains.
On Monday, the weather will initially be mostly clear but from midday, it will become locally mostly cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms expected. On Tuesday, locally increased clouds will be observed, which in the afternoon and evening are expected to bring isolated rain, mainly in the mountains. On Wednesday, the weather will be mostly clear; however, clouds that develop during the midday hours are expected to bring isolated rain, mainly in the mountains.
Temperatures until Wednesday are expected to gradually rise and fluctuate close to the average climatic values.
