A huge undertaking in Cyprus’ medical industry has been announced, with a local company saying they reached an agreement with Israel’s Hadassah Medical to set up a network of hospitals offering diagnostic, rehabilitative, and assisted living care on the island.

According to Philenews, H.C. Management of Medical Center PLC announced recently it has reached a deal with Israel’s Hadassah Medical Ltd to move forward with a state-of-the-art medical complex. The new project in Cyprus will be named Integrated Medical Center.

The IMC, which will carry the Hadassah brand, a well-known symbol for quality care in the region, is expected to change the medical scene on the island at an estimated cost around €150 million.

Knews understands the Integrated Medical Center will function as both a private medical network and a healthcare provider

According to publically available information, the company will be structured around self-sustaining for-profit business entities that will operate independently within the Hadassah network, with complexes in both Limassol and Nicosia.

One company in the network, H.C. Diagnostic Center Ltd, will manage a diagnostic center estimated to open next year in Limassol. The facility will operate for at least three years and will be a forerunner to the opening of another similar Hospital in the capital.

The Hospital complex in Nicosia will be managed by another company overseeing both a hospital and a diagnostic center in a plot of 23,000 sq metres, scheduled to open in 2024.

There will also be H.C. Rehabilitation, managing a rehabilitation center which will include a Medical Spa & Wellness Center expected to be completed by 2025. Services offered will include state-of-the-art facilities and modern treatment methods for post-surgery patients, trauma centers for accident recovery, and those battling forms of addiction.

An assisted living center, set to be constructed in two stages, one ready in 2024 and the other in 2025, will include facilities with independent living arrangements.

Knews understands the Integrated Medical Center will function as both a private medical network and a healthcare provider, while local media said the mammoth project was expected to create 1500 local jobs.
