Authorities have closed a section of Makariou Avenue in Nicosia after part of a building under renovation collapsed, causing scaffolding to fall onto the road.
The closure affects the stretch between the Central Police Station and Evagorou Street, police said Tuesday. The incident has disrupted traffic in the area, and officials urged drivers to use alternative routes.
No injuries have been reported so far. Emergency crews responded quickly to secure the scene and assess the damage.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the collapse. Authorities have not provided an estimated time for reopening the affected section of the avenue.
