Monday weather: Sunshine with a side of confusion

Low pressure’s in town and apparently it didn’t get the memo about Mondays being hard enough already.

Newsroom

It’s Monday, which means the universe has hit “snooze” again. Low pressure is loitering in the area, possibly looking for motivation or just avoiding responsibilities.

Today’s weather will be mostly clear, with clouds showing up occasionally, like that one colleague who insists on “just popping in” when you’re busiest. Winds will start from the northwest to northeast at a respectable 4 Beaufort (secure the garden furniture), later turning southwest to northwest at a gentler 3-4 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough, wavy enough to keep your beach hair honest.

Temperatures will climb to around 28°C inland and along the coasts, and 17°C in the mountains, ideal if you fancy pretending it’s autumn somewhere else.

Tonight, skies stay mostly clear. Winds from the northwest to northeast will drop to a light 3 Beaufort, and the sea will calm down nicely, the marine equivalent of slipping into pyjamas.

As for Tuesday through Thursday, expect partly cloudy skies and the occasional mountain shower, just enough to make hikers question their life choices. Temperatures will inch up slightly but remain around the “normal for October” range, which in Cyprus means shorts are still socially acceptable and your winter coat continues to gather dust.
