Cypriot authorities conducted a coordinated inspection in the Morfou district on Thursday, uncovering cases of illegal employment and unlawful work.

During the operation, police and labour inspectors visited four business premises and discovered three foreign nationals working without the necessary permits. The individuals were detained for illegal employment and for residing in Cyprus without authorization.

Investigations are now underway into the three employers who hired them.

The Labour Ministry’s Inspection Service also identified four separate violations of undeclared work regulations and issued notices accordingly. In addition, three notices were issued for failing to pay minimum wage, neglecting to provide employment contracts, and violating wage protection laws.
