A fire broke out on Sunday night in an apartment on Agapinoros Avenue in Paphos. It was extinguished before it spread.
According to a spokesman for the Police Headquarters' Communications Branch Office, the fire reportedly started at 23:15 on Sunday night from an electric stove in the living room of the apartment that had been placed near the mattress, causing clothes and the mattress to overheat.
The fire was extinguished by members of the Fire Service and contained to the room and bed before spreading to adjacent flats.
The fire caused damage to the interior of the apartment.
The occupants of the apartment left the residence without any danger or injury.
