Police are trying to establish the identity of a woman who was killed Saturday in an accident on the highway near Larnaca International Airport.
According to police, a woman of unknown identity was fatally struck by a car on the Larnaca airport expressway Saturday night.
Police are asking members of the public to come forward if they have any information that could help identity the road victim
An official police report said the woman appeared to have been walking on the motorway when she was struck around 9:25pm by a vehicle moving northbound near a Dromolaxia exit.
It was not immediately clear whether the woman had been walking on the side of the road facing oncoming traffic.
Police told Knews the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was administered a Breathalyzer test that showed no alcohol consumption.
The woman was described as approximately 60 years old, with dark hair. At the time of the incident, she was wearing black trousers, a white blouse with a floral print, and red sneakers.

Some reports later emerged suggesting the road victim was a Bulgarian national who was employed in Larnaca, while the driver was described as a 65-year-old Greek Cypriot male.
