Good morning and happy Friday! Here’s your weekend weather report with a splash of fun.
Today’s skies are playing peek-a-boo, with a mix of partly cloudy and mainly cloudy stretches. A few isolated rain showers might pop up, and don’t be surprised if the mountains (and maybe the west and south) get a quick, cheeky little thunderstorm. Up in Troodos, the higher peaks could see a dusting of snow or some sleet—so if you’re heading up there, pack your winter gear! Winds will be doing their thing from the northeast to southeast, blowing at a chill but manageable 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea? Slightly bumpy but nothing too wild. Temperatures will hover around 16°C inland, 18°C by the coast, and a brisk 7°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the clouds will gather like party guests, especially near the coast, where there’s a slim chance of some light rain. Troodos might get another sprinkling of snow or sleet—winter vibes are strong up there. Be careful if you're out late, as patchy fog or mist could make things a bit hazy in the interior and eastern areas. Winds will stay mellow at 3 Beaufort, and the sea will calm down to “barely rippled” status. Temps will dip to 6°C inland, 9°C on the coast, and a frosty 2°C in the mountains, with some frost popping up. Cozy up if you’re outdoors!
Weekend vibes? Bring an umbrella.
Saturday starts cloudy with scattered showers and the odd thunderstorm, starting in the west and spreading across the island. Troodos will once again flaunt its snowy peaks. By Saturday evening, the rain should retreat to the coastal areas but might linger a bit. Temps will stick to normal January levels, so bundle up!
On Sunday, the weather stays mostly cloudy with more rain and isolated storms—Troodos keeping the snow party alive. Temperatures remain steady and seasonally normal, so don’t expect any surprises.
By Monday, we’ll see patchy clouds, a few showers, and temperatures edging slightly above average—just a hint of spring teasing us from the future.
Enjoy your weekend, rain or shine! Whether you’re braving the elements or cozying up indoors, it’s a great time to relax and recharge.
