Rain hangs around for a while

Humidity on the rise this week, cooler temperatures and misty early mornings in the forecast

Local showers and possibly thunderstorms are expected throughout Monday, with chances of afternoon rain and morning mist in the forecast for the next few days.

Monday skies will be partly cloudy with increasing clouds over local areas, mainly in the mountains but also inland and out west, with chances of local showers and possibly thunderstorms.

Maximums are expected to reach 35° Celsius inland, around 30 in the eastern and southern parts of the island, 28 in the north and out west, while it will be 25 up in the mountains.

Misty early mornings

Evening skies are expected to be mostly clear while officials also warned of increasing clouds over some local areas as well as rising humidity. Fog and low-level clouds in the early morning hours are also expected to create a misty atmosphere.

Lows are expected to drop down to 16 degrees inland as well as in the north and out west, around 18 in the eastern and southern parts, and 13 up in the mountains.

Overall temperatures are expected to register slightly below normal averages for this time of the year

Weather forecast for Tuesday through Thursday include mostly clear skies initially but also increasing clouds over local areas between noon and early afternoon, with chances of local showers and possibly thunderstorms in higher elevations as well as inland.

Dust levels remain at moderate levels at high altitudes, with no air quality alerts expected as dust clears out by Tuesday. Overall temperatures are expected to register slightly below normal averages for this time of the year.
