Coronavirus cases in the Republic of Cyprus reached 937 on Monday, when two new cases were announced involving a recently repatriated person and a teacher.
The new cases emerged after 2,128 samples were checked for the virus.
According to Leondios Kostrikis, member of the health advisory committee, the epidemiological data is maintaining its positive streak, but the sources of the new cases are concerning.
While just two people were intubated at the Nicosia General Hospital ICU on Monday, Dr Marios Loizou, also a member of the committee, said “the health system must begin preparing to deal with a potential new wave of the pandemic.”
