A 38-year-old runner from Nicosia, who was vacationing with his family in Chloraka, died Thursday morning near Coral Bay during his morning run.

According to police, the man was vacationing with his wife and their two young children, when he set out to go for a run Thursday morning along the western coastline towards Ayios Georgios in Peyia.
Under circumstances that remain unknown, the athlete lost consciousness and he was spotted by a tourist couple on their walk near Coral Bay, roughly about half way through his route.
He was transported by an ambulance to the Emergency Room at Paphos General Hospital, where a doctor on duty pronounced him dead on arrival.
An autopsy conducted by state forensic pathologist Eleni Antoniou is expected to reveal the exact cause of death.
Local reports said the man was an avid runner who went jogging every day.
