Look. I was walking outside this morning, right? Sun was shining, sky looked nice and clear, and I said to myself, "Today might be alright." Then I looked at the weather paper. Seasonal low pressure is sitting right on top of us. You know what that means? It means the heat is coming to collect its money, man!
Morning starts out nice and quiet, light breeze at 3 Beaufort, fooling everybody. Then afternoon hits, the sun turns into a flame-thrower, and clouds start gathering over the mountains. You might even get a little pop-up rain up there.
Here is how the thermostat is messing with people today:
Inland plains: Touching 37°C. That ain't just hot, brother. That's "your thighs sticking to the car seat" hot!
Western and southwestern coasts: Sitting at 32°C. People down there act like they got it easy, but 32 degrees will still make you sweat through your good shirt.
Remaining coastlines: Clocking in at 35°C. Just plain hot and sticky.
Higher Troodos Mountains: Reaching 28°C. People run up the mountain to cool off, but nature is up there waiting for them with rain.
Morning breeze is real soft, variable at 3 Beaufort. But by afternoon, the wind swings around from the southwest to northwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and if you’re down on the southwestern coast, it’s gonna hit you with some 4 to 5 Beaufort gusts. Sea stays calm to slightly rough, just watching everybody sweat.
Tonight, the sun finally goes down and gives everybody a break. Skies stay mainly clear. Winds turn into a light 3 Beaufort downslope breeze, blowing down off the hills, and the sea settles down to calm or slightly rough.
Wednesday (tomorrow): Sky stays mainly clear, but afternoon comes along and brings another round of local cloud cover over the hills.
Thursday and Friday: Clouds are gonna pop up in intervals. Come Thursday afternoon, those clouds are bringing isolated showers and full-on thunderstorms, mostly in the mountains, but creeping into the inland areas too.
Temperatures keep rising slightly until Thursday, staying well above average. Then Friday comes along, drops the temp a little bit, and brings us back down to normal before we all lose our minds!
