Six flights canceled as Cyprus airports prepare for Thursday strike

A total of six flights to and from Larnaca Airport have been canceled due to a general strike scheduled for Thursday, September 11, airport officials said.

Specifically, Jazeera Airways canceled flights to and from Kuwait (JZR345/JZR346), Qatar Airways canceled flights to and from Doha (QTR265/QTR266), and Emirates canceled flights from Dubai to Larnaca and from Larnaca to Malta (UAE109).

Hermes Airports said the strike will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., affecting more than 50 arrivals and departures at Larnaca and Paphos airports and impacting over 15,000 passengers.

Airlines are rescheduling affected flights, and passengers are urged to check messages from their airline or travel agent for updated departure or arrival times. Updated flight information will also be posted on the Hermes Airports website at www.hermesairports.com.

Hermes Airports said additional staff will be on duty after the strike ends at 2 p.m. to assist passengers as operations return to normal.
