A seasonal low pressure system is affecting Cyprus, leading to a mix of clear skies and localized weather changes.
Today, the weather will be mostly clear. However, clouds will gradually develop throughout the day, bringing isolated showers or even storms in the afternoon, particularly in the mountainous regions. Winds will initially blow from the northwest to northeast, and locally from the southeast to southwest, at a weak 3 Beaufort. As the day progresses, they will shift to southerly to northwest, weak to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and temporarily reach 4 to 5 Beaufort along windward coasts. The sea will be slightly rough. Temperatures will rise to around 40°C inland, 35°C on the southeast and east coasts, 34°C on the north coast, 33°C on the other coasts, and 30°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will remain mostly clear, though there may be some increased low clouds locally, mainly on the western coast. Winds will blow mainly from the southwest to northwest, weak to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, becoming weak at 3 Beaufort later. The sea will calm to slightly turbulent conditions, but remain a bit rough in the west and locally in the north. Temperatures will drop to around 26°C inland, 23°C on the southwest coast, 24°C on the other coasts, and 21°C in the higher mountains.
Looking ahead to Friday and Saturday, the weather will continue to be mostly clear, though increased clouds after noon may bring isolated showers, especially in the mountains. On Friday, a strong westerly air current will affect the area. By Sunday, the weather is expected to be predominantly clear. Temperatures will gradually drop slightly by Saturday to near average climatic values, with a slight rise anticipated on Sunday.
