Technical Gymnasiums will operate in four districts during the 2026 to 2027 school year after the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth decided to expand the programme to Famagusta and Paphos.
The programme was first introduced on a pilot basis in Nicosia and Limassol during the previous academic year. Students attend standard Gymnasium classes in the morning, while technical education lessons take place in the afternoon between 2pm and 3.30pm.
In Nicosia, the programme is based at Agios Stylianos Gymnasium, while students in Limassol attend classes at Polemidia Gymnasium. New centres will also open at Kokkinochoria Panou Ioannou Gymnasium in Famagusta district and Panagia Theoskepasti Gymnasium in Paphos.
Parents and guardians from any area of Cyprus may apply for first year enrolment because the schools will continue operating under an open catchment system.
Applications must be completed and sent by email to the Directorate of Secondary Technical and Vocational Education and Training no later than Monday, June 29, 2026.
