Happy Friday! The weak high-pressure system is finally acting like a proper host, and it seems Mother Nature has officially retired her winter wardrobe. We are looking at a beautifully settled start to the weekend, though she’s bringing a tiny bit of atmospheric glitter (coloquially known as dust) along for the ride starting tomorrow.
Today is a brilliant, mostly clear day with just a few wisps of high cloud moving in later to give the sky some texture. If you are inland, temperatures are heating up nicely to 28°C, which is a far cry from the shivering temps we saw earlier in the week. The coasts are hovering between a lovely 24°C and 26°C, making it prime time for a long lunch by the water.
The winds are keeping it light and polite at 3 to 4 Beaufort, shifting from onshore breezes to a gentle northeasterly flow. Up in the mountains, the mercury has climbed to 17°C, so even the peaks are finally feeling the spring spirit.
Tonight, the calm vibes are sticking around for your Friday night plans. The sky will stay mostly clear, decorated with a few patches of medium and high clouds. The winds will be light and the sea calm to slightly rough, perfect conditions for a peaceful evening stroll or a quiet night in with the windows cracked open.
The weekend trend
Saturday: The sun is still the star of the show, though we might see some medium clouds early on. The main update for Saturday is the arrival of some thin dust in the air. It’s nothing to worry about, but it might give the horizon that slightly hazy, sepia-toned look. Temperatures will take another little step up, too.
Sunday and Monday: The mostly clear streak continues. We’re looking at consistent, sunny weather with just the occasional high cloud drifting by. Temperatures will hold steady well above the seasonal average through Monday, so you can officially consider the "May Winter" a thing of the past.
