The largest and most modern cruise ship in the world, the Wonder of the Seas of the Royal Caribbean, has been anchored at the port of Limassol since this morning.
The 362-meter cruise ship, with a gross tonnage of 236,857 tons, has just joined the Royal Caribbean fleet as the company's fifth Oasis-class cruise ship.
The Wonder of the Seas was built in Saint-Nazaire, France, by Chantiers de l'Atlantique and set sail from the port of Marseille a few days ago, making its maiden voyage to the port of Limassol.
Breaking the record for the company's twin cruise ships, the Wonder of the Seas is 4% larger than the Symphony of the Seas, carrying almost 7,000 passengers and 2,300 staff.
The cruise ship is scheduled to cruise the Caribbean between March and April, while in May it will cruise around Western Europe.
On February 2, the company is planning a press conference on board in the presence of state officials where it will announce its plans for 2022 - 2023 which will include Cyprus.
