Today, a yellow storm warning has been issued by the Met Office.
According to the latest statement, we can expect isolated thunderstorms affecting primarily the mountainous, inland, and eastern areas. These thunderstorms may bring heavy rain with an intensity exceeding 35 millimeters per hour, and there is also a possibility of hail.
The warning will be in effect from 12:00 noon until 18:00 this afternoon.
Currently, a weak low-pressure system is influencing our region. As we move into the afternoon, we can expect the development of clouds, leading to localized showers and isolated thunderstorms, primarily in the mountains, inland, and eastern areas. Thunderstorms may be accompanied by hail. Winds will be mainly southwest to west, ranging from light to moderate, around 3 to 4 Beaufort. Along the coast, winds may become moderate to strong, around 4 to 5 Beaufort, blowing onshore. As for the sea conditions, it will be choppy to slightly rough.
Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear, although there may be intermittent low clouds at times. Winds will gradually shift from mainly westerly to northwesterly, light at around 3 Beaufort, occasionally increasing to light to moderate, around 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperature-wise, we can expect a drop to around 17 degrees Celsius inland, around 18 degrees Celsius along the coast, and around 11 degrees Celsius in higher elevated areas.
Moving on to tomorrow, the weather will start off mainly clear, but as we approach midday, increasing clouds will bring local showers or thunderstorms, primarily in the mountains, inland, and the southeast. Winds will shift from southwest to northwest, starting off light to moderate at around 3 to 4 Beaufort, later becoming moderate to strong at around 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be initially calm to slightly rough, gradually becoming slightly rough with locally rough conditions on the foreshore. In terms of temperatures, expect a rise to around 32 degrees Celsius inland, around 29 degrees Celsius along the south and east coast, around 27 degrees Celsius on the west and north coast, and around 22 degrees Celsius in higher elevated areas.
Looking ahead to Thursday, we anticipate mainly clear weather in the beginning, but during midday and onwards, partly cloudy skies may bring isolated showers, especially in the mountains. As for Friday and Saturday, the weather will be mostly clear, with some patchy clouds at times.
Temperature-wise, we can expect a gradual increase on Thursday and Friday, reaching near or slightly above average climatic values. However, on Saturday, temperatures are expected to drop slightly.
