The legal proceedings involving Turkish Cypriot lawyer Akan Kıursat, accused of usurping Greek Cypriot property, continued today at the Nicosia District Court. Kıursat's arrest in Rome on New Year's Eve was based on a 2007 warrant. On February 2, he agreed to extradition to Cyprus concerning the property case in occupied Klepini, within the province of Kyrenia.
On February 9, the court allowed his release upon posting bail, consisting of €10,000 in cash and €65,000 in bank cheques from Cypriot banks. Conditions for his release include regular appearances at the Agios Dometios police station every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month between 6-9 pm.
The trial progresses amid the backdrop of Kıursat's alleged involvement in the usurpation of Greek Cypriot property, marking a significant development in the longstanding legal matter.
