Newsroom
After the grand theatrics of our previous named storms (looking at you, ADEL and BYRON), the atmosphere seems to be suffering from a bit of a creative hangover. Today, we are being visited by a generic, unnamed "weak low-pressure system." It’s the weather equivalent of showing up to work on a Tuesday in sweatpants; low energy but still effectively making its presence felt.
The main headline today is the chill. We have officially dipped into "Is the heater working?" territory. Temperatures are struggling to reach 16°C inland and 18°C on the coast. If you are anywhere near the higher mountains, brace yourself for a frigid 6°C.
As for the sky, expect a bit of a mood swing. We’ll see periods of increased cloud cover throughout the day, and by the afternoon, the north and the mountainous areas might get some isolated showers. It’s not a wash-out, just enough to be annoying. The winds are blowing light to moderate (3-4 Beaufort), but might gust a bit stronger initially, just to remind you to zip up your jacket.
Tonight is where the real winter vibes kick in. The clouds will stick around, and in the higher mountains, we are looking at a chance of snow or sleet. It’s the perfect excuse to stay indoors with a hot chocolate.
But there is good news on the horizon! By Wednesday (tomorrow), this weak system loses interest completely, leaving us with mostly clear skies for a sunny hump day. Thursday and Friday will see the clouds return, but temperatures are expected to finally start rising by the end of the week. So, survive the chill today. Brighter (and warmer) days are coming!
