The USS Bulkeley (DDG-84), an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, has docked in Cyprus for a Thanksgiving liberty call. The U.S. Ambassador to Cyprus, Julie Fisher, welcomed the ship and its crew, acknowledging their efforts in maintaining stability and security in the Eastern Mediterranean. This visit underscores the ongoing U.S.-Cyprus partnership in promoting regional peace and cooperation.
Commissioned in 2001, the USS Bulkeley is named after Vice Admiral John D. Bulkeley, a World War II Medal of Honor recipient renowned for his heroism in the Pacific.
