A violent confrontation erupted on Saturday at an apartment complex in Oroklini, Larnaca, leaving a 27-year-old foreign man seriously injured and a 2-month-old infant hospitalized as a precaution. The circumstances remain under investigation by the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (CID), while disturbing footage and unverified claims circulating online have intensified public concern.

The incident reportedly began around 10:30 a.m. when the owner of the apartment complex arrived with employees to secure several units, some of which are allegedly being occupied illegally by foreign nationals. Tensions escalated later in the day, prompting the intervention of Larnaca police patrols who arrived at the scene at 12:30p.m.

The confrontation resulted in a foreign man sustaining a severe head injury. He was intubated at the scene and transferred to Nicosia General Hospital. A 9-month-old infant suffered minor injuries and was taken to Makarios Hospital in Nicosia for precautionary medical checks.

Social media videos have surfaced, showing harrowing scenes from the aftermath. In a 16-second clip shared on Facebook, a woman can be heard repeatedly shouting, “They just kill somebody... Call ambulance. No ambulance,” as a group of men carry an apparently unconscious man wearing a red hoodie.

Another TikTok video, lasting 1 minute and 8 seconds, shows a man dressed in black with a surgical mask, holding a pruning saw walking toward the camera and shouting in Greek, "Give it here, give it here!" (“Δώστο εδώ, Δώστο εδώ!”), before the footage briefly cuts to black. When it resumes, people are seen running and heard shouting, ending with the same man in the red hoodie lying on the ground, bleeding from what appears to be the mouth.

The Larnaca CID is actively investigating the incident.
