Weather forecast: Sunshine on default, clouds considering auditions

Inland bakes, coasts juggle breezes, and the mountains keep flirting with rain.

Newsroom

A seasonal low-pressure system is still making itself at home, ensuring the forecast comes with just enough drama to keep things interesting.

Today: After a slow morning where low clouds and light fog do their best impression of a snooze button, skies will turn mostly clear. By the afternoon, however, clouds over the mountains will start organizing their own little gathering, and an isolated shower, maybe even a brief thunderstorm cameo, can’t be ruled out. Winds will blow southwest to west, usually light to moderate (3-4 Beaufort), but expect a coastal power-up in the southeast where gusts may hit strong levels (5 Beaufort). The sea will be slightly rough, so not ideal for balancing drinks on inflatable flamingos. Temperatures: 37°C inland (bring shade or regrets), 31°C on the west coast, 33°C along the rest of the shores, and a fresher 27°C in the mountains.

Tonight: Skies stay mostly clear, though patches of low cloud or light fog will sneak in here and there, just to remind you the weather doesn’t fully clock out. Winds will ease, shifting southwest to northwest and occasionally variable, light at 3 Beaufort. Seas calm down to mostly smooth with a hint of ripple. Temperatures cool to 23°C inland and on the coasts, and a chillier 20°C up high.

Friday, Saturday & Sunday: The “mostly clear” trend continues, though afternoons may invite some clouds to gather over the mountains. Those clouds might try their luck with an isolated shower, but nothing too dramatic.

Temperatures: No big changes on Friday, a slight dip Saturday, and then steady on Sunday, staying close to seasonal norms. Translation: summer is still here, just with minor mood swings.
