Weather turns cooler this week

Temperatures drop below normal averages with chances of local showers, thunder, hail

A low pressure system is affecting the area for the rest of the week, with colder temperatures and increasing chances of rain, thunderstorms, and possibly hailstorms.

Tuesday skies will be mostly cloudy during the daytime with chances of local showers and isolated thunderstorms. Evening weather will be partly cloudy with lower chances of rain mainly in the west, up north, and over the mountains.

Weather officials say summer is on the way but it won't be until May when people can begin to feel the warm and dry climate

Hail could also be expected in areas where there are heavy storms, according to officials, while winds will range from weak to moderate but also strong in the late afternoon.

Maximum high temperatures will reach 17° Celsius inland and in the coastal areas, while it will be 6 degrees up in the highest elevations.

Minimum lows will drop down to 8° Celsius inland, around 11 in the coastal areas, while it will be 3 degrees at the highest elevations.

Afternoon rain after mid-week

The three-day forecast for Wednesday through Friday includes mostly clear weather initially, while clouds will set in later in the afternoon hours with chances of rain and thunderstorms mainly inland and on the mountains.

Temperature is expected to rise slightly on Wednesday while the whole week is still expected to register digits below the normal averages for this time of the year.
