A woman’s body was reportedly seen floating in the water near Aphrodite’s Rock in Paphos on Friday early evening.
According to Cyprus News Agency (CNA), a traffic police officer who was patrolling along the Paphos-Limassol highway, saw a body of a female floating in the water close to Petra Tou Romiou, known as Aphrodite's Rock on the southerwestern coastline.
Police were notified around 5pm while the coast guard also arrived on the scene to help retrieve the body. A fire truck was also called to the area to provide light to first responders.
But it was not immediately clear whether the body was retrieved in the evening. Police sources told Knews on Saturday morning that the operation was still ongoing.
Foul play was not being suspected according to sources.
