Authorities have arrested a 35-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman in connection with a robbery that occurred on 29 September in Nicosia, targeting a 44-year-old female resident, according to a spokesperson from the Cyprus Police Press Office.
Police said the man was taken into custody on Sunday around 16:30, with the woman following the next day shortly after 17:00, after evidence linked them to the incident.
The incident unfolded around 18:40 on 29 September when police received a report of a break-in at a Nicosia apartment. Upon arriving at the scene, officers met the victim, who recounted that an unknown man had knocked on her door and, once admitted, entered wearing sunglasses and a hat.
The woman told police the intruder was armed with a knife. He allegedly struck and threatened her before seizing a box containing jewelry and a substantial amount of cash. The suspect then fled in a car waiting outside, reportedly with two accomplices inside.
The total value of items stolen in the robbery is reported to be €22,000.
