€26,340 in bounced checks in March

31 individuals listed in central information register

In March 2024, a total of 15 bad cheques, amounting to €26,340, were issued, with 6 individuals (5 legal entities and 1 natural person) being listed in the preliminary registry of the Central Information Register (CIR) for dishonoured cheques.

According to data released by the CBC on Thursday, during the period from January to March 2024, 76 dishonoured cheques, with a cumulative value of €115,376, were recorded in the preliminary registry of the CIR, compared to 92 cheques of €276,694 in the same period the previous year. The dishonoured cheques over the three-month span involved 31 individuals (22 legal entities and 9 natural persons).

Furthermore, CBC statistics indicate that the number of individuals listed in the CIR reached 13 in March 2024, including 6 legal entities and 7 natural persons controlling legal entities.

Over the three-month period, a total of 60 individuals were registered in the CIR, compared to 77 individuals during the corresponding period in 2023
