The new "Park & Ride" service, aiming to significantly alleviate traffic congestion at the entrance to Nicosia and in the city center, commences operations today.
This service is a joint effort involving the Cyprus Public Transport Company, known as Cyprus Public Transport (CPT), and the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Works.
As per CPT's announcement, the service will run from Monday to Friday, starting at 6:00 a.m. and concluding at 4:00 p.m. It will offer frequent and consistent urban transportation, especially during peak hours, transporting passengers from the GSP Stadium to Nicosia's city center, with specific stops at Kalispera Lights, Limassol Avenue, and Makarios Avenue.
During peak hours, services are expected to run every 10 to 15 minutes, and at other times, every half hour.
Motorists opting for the "Park & Ride" service can park their vehicles at the GSP Stadium free of charge and enjoy a complimentary journey to and from the city center.
Simultaneously, a new bus lane has been established at the entrance to Nicosia, designed to facilitate quicker and more comfortable travel for service users, as stated by CPT.
