Cyprus got a welcome tourism lift in November, with arrivals jumping by more than 30% compared with the same month last year, according to new data from the Statistical Service.

A total of 234,580 tourists visited the island in November 2025, up from 179,941 in November 2024, a strong late-season surge that officials see as a sign of growing interest beyond the traditional summer months.

The United Kingdom remained Cyprus’ biggest tourism market, accounting for nearly one in four arrivals. More than 53,000 visitors came from the UK, followed by Poland with about 31,000 arrivals and Israel with close to 27,000. Germany and Greece rounded out the top five source countries.

Most visitors came for holidays, making up 72% of arrivals in November. Visits to friends and relatives accounted for just over 13%, while business travel represented about 14%. That marks a noticeable shift from last year, when fewer visitors came for holidays and more arrived for business or family visits.

The strong November showing adds to an already solid year for tourism. From January through November, Cyprus welcomed more than 4.37 million visitors, a 12% increase compared with the same period in 2024.

At the same time, Cypriots were also traveling more. Trips abroad by Cyprus residents rose by 14% in November, with more than 137,000 returns recorded. Greece was the top destination, followed by the United Kingdom and Italy.

For most Cypriots traveling overseas, vacations were the main reason, accounting for nearly two-thirds of trips. Business travel made up almost a third, with smaller numbers traveling for studies or other reasons.

The figures suggest that travel demand, both to and from Cyprus, remains strong as the year draws to a close, reinforcing tourism’s continued role as a key driver of the economy.
