The Labor Department is taking precautions to protect workers from the intense heat. Due to soaring temperatures, an official warning has been issued, advising that all heavy and moderate outdoor work be suspended on Thursday from 12:00 to 16:00 local time.
This precaution extends beyond labor-intensive tasks; it also includes the transportation and delivery of goods using two-wheeled vehicles like motorcycles, mopeds, bicycles, or personal mobility devices such as scooters and e-scooters.
The directive applies to inland areas below 300 meters in altitude, situated more than 10 kilometers from the coastline, as well as higher mountainous regions with altitudes exceeding 1150 meters.
These measures aim to prevent heat-related illnesses and ensure the safety and well-being of workers amidst the ongoing heatwave.
